I am a geologist by profession and training. This is an educational channel devoted mostly to spread of geological knowledge, but also partly covers my hobbies in the fields of astronomy, science and technology. I wish to thank all of you who subscribed and watched my videos. I will continue to grow this channel with your support and patronage. This channel has changed over the last few years. I am now steering toward Geology, Astronomy and Technology with round the clock reporting of Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Astronomical Events including Comets and Meteorites. I will still have content relating to Allotment Gardening, No Dig Method, Organic Life-style and Environment from our Hertfordshire Allotment Life. Occasionally I will have funny contents with my typical sense of humour, which I hope you will enjoy :)
Cheers

A great source for live views of the volcano in Reykjanes Peninsula is the amazing mbl.is UA-cam channel. Please SUBSCRIBE and like and share their live UA-cam camera views here to help their work be known. Iceland depends on tourism and beyond the Reykjanes Peninsula there are plenty of sites with world class tourist attractions. If you want to help Iceland, plan a holiday to this amazing country. Icelandic people are kind and welcoming people and their food and cuisine is second to none. The clip of starting moments of the eruption is courtesy of mbl Iceland.

The team that designed the dikes at Grindavík and Svartsengi gained a lot of experience in designing and making them when experiments were carried out with dikes during the eruption at Fagradalsfjall in 2021. It was not surprising to the team when the dikes passed the test in the eruption on January 14.

Who's music? Very nice vibe...
I WOULD RATHER HEAR THE VOLCANO. The music SUKS
its more relaxing and hypnotizing with no music, just the sounds of the lava waves
Watching the waves of lava breaking over the wall is fascinating! Thank you for this look back.

Awesome video!
Thanks for the update
It started today. 7 years left. 3.5 years to December 25th, 2027. 3.5 years left then. The 2 witnesses will begin to talk. ✝️❤️❣️💔
I think APO refractors with short to moderate focal lengths have more versatility, but long focal ratio achromatic refractors absolutely have a place in telescope observing. They definitely appeal to me as they are old school.
Amazing! 😅
Hello again..I have been watching All day the building of the new bern by many many trips done by the lorries. On the area where the gasing is on L1 where the first spill over happen has sunk down. Is this due to the heat of the lava it's covering or designed that way. Only I have noticed when the lorries go over it it's not as level as it was first thing this morning ?
I was worried that would happen. Hope nobody was caught on the down side of it
hope that no one got hurt
not all hero's wear capes some drive bulldozers
History in the making 😮❤
Incredible would love to head over there but I have a grandchild about to come into this world and she is too precious to miss.
What a heroic enterprise by everyone involved to save the town, power plant, and blue lagoon
I am wondering if the landrise again is so slow, is it because the last 2 eruptions have layered up the ground.. making the rise slower
Wow! Another incredible video! Thank you for covering these eruptions. I'm riveted.
Well, sweet dreams! and thank you for your hard work. Just a friendly tip: "food and cuisine", not "food and cousin". Cuisine is food, cousin is your uncle's kid, do not marry! Spilling is a headake! isn't it? LOL! Hugs for all you do! 🤗
Thanks for that!
Now that is real fireworks!
It's amazing how people will post negative comments and ask questions when doing something as simple as reading the video description would have answered all questions.
Wow, what an experience and the knowledge volcanologists must have recieved from this. Wow. Brave too. I pictured a movie created by this short clip.
Is there any uplift or maybe in a different area?
cool lava beach , new r supptee++hugg
The dragon is just hiding, just below the view of the cameras. 😮
Thank you. These short updates are perfect.
Very Creative Yet Simple Solution
Mother nature always wins
What is the eye relief on the 13” and how much does it go for?
What’s the eye relief on the 13mm and what do they go for?
Our thoughts are with you guys there. Regards from Adelaide, South Australia 🇦🇺
😮
Thank you for the information. Iceland is in my prayers
😢
Shouldn't they get firefighting planes that can stuck up sea water and dump it on the lava flow? The US has tons of them
We're a little busy dealing with tons of wildfires due to the heat wave. There's little surplus at this time of year.
🐥Now if only I could have some lovely dirt to really get clean in!
Nature will always defeat humans
Vich is estil erapting?
A question..would the land rise in the last few eruptions be sower due to the extra weight of the new lava which blankets the area ?
It can, but not much. The thikness of lava erupted is relatively thin ( 5 to 15 meters at the most ) compared to 10 to 15 kilometers thickness of the Earth crust there.
This is the craziest thing I’ve seen regarding volcanoes yet.
Another learning point - didn't know for how long lava still can ooze out after the supply from the cone has stopped. I thought 12 hours or a day at most. Now the waiting game begins. Didn't find a new update on the refill rate of the upper chamber but I would say another eruption will cause real mayhem. Latest update from 18 June says it's refilling.
Pretty amazing development, really!
We'll see, that is if it isn't just flowing thru the lava tube.
These things will happen from time to time 🤷🏽
LOL
What do yo expect - millions of tonnes of liquid lava built up. You can’t stop it.
I wonder from where all that lava is coming from, if as they say the eruption has stopped. Maybe there is an intrusion like when in November there was an intrusion underground. Maybe this time it is coming out.
It is coming from lava pond but how lava pond is getting lava from? Since eruption had stopped
